  Chronology:

In 1871 she was living with her widowed mother on a 10 acre farm at Weydale, Thurso, Caithness. ⁶

Between 1875 and 1877 she was a Domestic Servant living at 9 Glebe St, Glasgow. This was the period between the birth of Jessie and her marriage to John. ⁷

In 1901 she was a Widow living at 136 Vermont St, Kinning Park with her eleven children. ⁸

She resided in 1911 in 136 Vermont St, Kinning Park. ⁹ (with Grace, Jane, Margaret, Charles, Lizzie, Anna and Christina)

She immigrated (possibly on the Mooltan) Cal 1914 to Melbourne, Australia. ¹⁰ (1914 is based on her death certificate showing 13 years in Victoria. The identification of the ship is based solely on the fact that the house where she lived with daughter Jessie was named Mooltan and that there was a ship of that name that bringing UK immigrants to Melbourne between 1906 and 1914)

She resided 1914 to 1927 in "Mooltan", Blanch St, Brighton. ^{5 11}

Janet married John Halket, son of William Halket and Margaret Harper, on 20 Apr 1877 in Glasgow.¹ (John Halket was born about 1839 in Gamrie, Banff ^{12 13 14 15 16 17} and died on 21 Apr 1897 in 136 Vermont St, Kinning Park, Glasgow ^{2 18}.)
