General Notes:
This photo (2459_Doar1.jpg) was in a group received from Ben Johnson in 2007. Most were without caption but from various document images with the photos it seemd that they were of the family of James Reuben Doar. If this is the case then this if taken in the 1880s could only be of the first James Reuben Doar. There is a companion photo that is most likely of his wife Phoebe (2534_Doar2.jpg).
Chronology:
In 1861 he was working as a Labourer at iron Works and living at Erewash Canal Side, Sandiacre with his father-in-law John Shaw, wife Amanda and 2 of his children. 10
In 1871 he was working as Ironstone Miner and living at Canal Side, Sandiacre with his wife Phebe and 4 children. 11
From 1881-1891 he was a Railway Platelayer living at Loch, Sandiacre with his wife and children. 12
James married Amanda Shaw, daughter of John Shaw and Grace, Oct to Dec 1858 in Derby.1 2 (Amanda Shaw was born Cal 1831 in Sandiacre, Derby,10 died Jan to Mar 1867 in Shardlow 13 and was buried on 17 Feb 1867 in Sandiacre 14.)
James next married Phebe Poyser From Oct to Dec 1867 in Shardlow.3 (Phebe Poyser was born Jul to Sep 1841 in Crich, Derbys 15 16 and died after 1901.)
