Anne Doar

   Another name for Anne was Anna Doar.⁴

  General Notes:

I have had a little trouble unravelling the Ann/es of about this age. Originally I thought I had lost this Ann after 1881 and had assumed the 1891 and 1901 entries were Ann b Shardlow 1847. This seems to fit much better with all entries b Sandiacre and mostly her name given as Anna. Her age gradually reduces over the years until 1901 when she adds a few years back.

Seems likely she is the Anne Doar of Sandiacre, great aunt of James R Doar who inscribed a book to him in 1914.

  Chronology:

In 1861 to 1881 she was a Starch Maker and living with her parents at Town St, Sandiacre. In all 3 years her name was recorded as "Anna" born Sandiacre but her age was 21,30,38 respectively. ⁴

In 1891 she was working as a Cook Domestic for Samuel Wright at 14 Oxford St, Nottingham. She was recorded as "Ann" b Sandiacre, age 42. ⁵

In 1901 she was working as a Cook Domestic for Edward Wright and his sister Catherine Dixon at "The Croft", Bare Lane, Ockbrook, Derbys. She was recorded as "Anna", b Sandiacre, age 55. ⁶

She resided in 1914 in Sandiacre. ⁷
