In 1861 he was working as an Iron Miner and living with Ann and 3 children at New Stapleford Rd, Stapleford There is also Hannah Atkin, 17, who is a little old to be "daughter" as described. ³

In 1871 he was a Furnace Labourer living with family at New England Rd, Ilkeston. ⁴

In 1881 he was a FurnaceMan living at 22 Brooks St, Ilkeston with family. James Atkin, 77, was visiting. ⁵

In 1891 he was a General Labourer living with wife and 2 sons at 48 Brook St, Ilkeston. ⁶

In 1901 he was working ? own acccount at home and living at 2 Brook St, Ilkeston with wife Ann and sons William and James. ⁷

William married Ann Doar, daughter of John Doar and Mary Butler, on 7 Mar 1854 in Stapleford, Notts.^{1 2} (Ann Doar was christened on 8 Sep 1833 in Stapleford, Notts ⁸ and died after Mar 1901.)
