Other names for Ann were Doar Anna Mary and Doores Anna Mary.
General Notes:
There seems little doubt that this Ann is the illegitimate daughter of 20 year old Ann Doar. The birth certificate has no father and the mother Ann Doar and it and the baptism indicate Shardlow as the birthplace. We know Samuel and mary's family was living in Shardlow from the birthplaces of Mary 1845 and Samuel 1847 although they had moved on by 1851.
(Note that there is an IGI entry confusing her with Anna Mary Doores b Billesdon, Leicester.)
Chronology:
In 1861 she was working as a Lace Drawer and living at Long Moor Lane, Sandiacre with her grandparents. It is possible that she was enumerated twice as another Ann Doar, 13 (not12), bShardlow and a Lace Drawer is recorded visiting Elizabeth Booth just down the road. 9
In 1871 she was working as a Silk Winder and boarding at Clap Gun(?) St, Castle Doughton, Leic with spinster Eunice Lucey. She is recorded as "Annie" age 23 b. Shardlow. 10
Ann married John (Thomas) Jowett, son of Thomas Jowett and Mary, on 6 May 1872 in Nottingham St Saviour.1 2 3 (John (Thomas) Jowett was born Cal 1847 in Breaston, Derbyshire and died after 1901.)
