On Ancestry.com there is a marriage in Brantford Ontario Canada between William DOAR and Emily SMITH on 15 Sep 1886;. also, the births of two children, Emily and Harold. These people match up with the family we found in the US that we suspect was William DOAR son of Thomas and Ann.
I have saved the two birth certificates and will send them to you later today. The marriage entry gives a reference only but when I get to the LDS library I will see if they have the appropriate film in stock which will enable us to get a photocopy of the marriage. Traditionally both
names of the parents as well as place of birth would appear on a marriage cert. This should help us to know if this was the right William.
