Abt 1903-1910 he may have been a Private - Army. His 1917 US draft registration is hard to read but looks like it states that he had 7 years army experience in England. ⁵

On 6 Apr 1910 he arrived in Philadelphia from Liverpool on the SS Merion. He occupation is difficult to read (Card Muncher?), he is 23 and 10 months, can read and write and n-o-k given as W Doar, 2 Leeson St, Nottingham. His last residence is given as Derby. ⁶

In 1930 he was working as a Pattern Maker, Lace Factory and residing in Bridgeport, Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife and 3 daughters. His first daughter is Constance as for his mother. ⁷

William married Lucy Cal 1911.¹ (Lucy was born Cal 1891 in England ⁸.)
