In 1861 he was an Iron Moulder in Church St, Stapleford. 2
In 1871 he was described as Farmer man(?) and living with wife and family at Market Place, Long Eaton.
In 1881 he was a Clerk at Main St, Long Eaton with wife and family. 2
Joseph married Elizabeth Doar, daughter of Thomas Doar and Sarah Attenborough, on 8 Dec 1850 in Radford St Peter.1 (Elizabeth Doar was christened on 23 May 1830 in Stapleford 5 and died Jan to Mar 1910 in Shardlow 6.)
