  General Notes:

There seems to be some confusion with the time and place of death of Robert. The Joan Cross information has him dying in Yaxley, Petersborough and being buried in Ardwick cemetery in Manchester. In 1871 Mary Ann and Maria are working together as domestic servants but I can find no trace of Robert and the two Elizas. (Note that in 1871 there is an Eliza, 48, b Salford, widow, and Eliza A, 20, b Manchester, Cotton Weaver, in Manchester but these also appear in 1861 - with Head Robert Roberts).

Robert married Eliza Bradley, daughter of David Bradley and Ann Haslam, on 19 Oct 1845 in Cathedral, Manchester, Lancashire.^{1 2} (Eliza Bradley was born Cal 1825 in Chorlton On Medlock, Manchester,¹⁰ died on 23 May 1890 in O'Connell Town (Windsor), Brisbane ¹² and was buried in Toowong Cemetery (Grave E90).)
