  General Notes:

In 1891 the only Alice S Fitzgerald found was in the Old Kent Rd Deaf and Dumb Asylum (aged 9 and born London).

In 1881 there is a Joshua B Dickinson aged 3 in Bostoch Rd, Tower Hamlets with father, mother, older brother and self all recorded as "deaf and dumb from birth".

Coincidence?

[Update: Mike Hubert remembers his mother saying that Alice was deaf so it seems that the couple were both deaf and that Joshua came from a family mostly affected from birth]
