Pairsons there of Mr Jas Lawtie .... Minister of the Gospel was heir and Representative to the said Geo Lawtie. Mrs Sara Lawtie Dingwall in Banff empowered Alex Lobban Merchant Cullen and Jas Lawtie Towie to excamb the houses and land situated in the old town which they did for the present houses and land as pledged of ..... March 1824 this ......' Lawtie's Mortification established by John Lawtie, Burgess of Cullen, in 1650. He bequeathed his whole property 'house, garden and a croft of land behoof of the poor of Cullen'. This charity was augmented by William Lawtie in 1657. Cottages with garden plots moved from the old town and re-established in South Deskford Street in 1824.   Chronology: Witness: baptism of Alexander Innes, son of Robert Innes and Ann Grant, 1724, Cullen, Banff, Scotland. 6 (Alexander Grant in Tochieniel) Witness: Baptism of Helen Innes, daughter of Robert Innes and Ann Grant, 1725, Cullen, Banff, Scotland. 7 He resided in 1732 in "in Tochieniel". 8 He worked as a Factor for the Earl of Findlater and Seafield in 1743 and resided at "of Tochieniel". 9 He worked as a Burgh of Cullen in 1752 and resided at "of Tochyneil". 10 He resided in 1773 in "in Tochiniel". 11 He worked as a Factor of the Earl Findlater in 1811 and resided at Late "of Tochieniel". 12 He resided at late of Tochiniel before 1841. 13 He worked as a Factor. 14 Alexander married May Chalmers before 1725.1 (May Chalmers was born circa 1700 15 and died before 1773.) Alexander next married Margaret Davidson on 10 Sep 1773 in "at Tochieneil", Cullen, Banff, Scotland.2 3 (Margaret Davidson was born Cal 1745 in not Moray,16 17 died on 12 Sep 1841 and was buried in 1841 in Cullen 18.)
