He worked as a CI? or is this ditto under Mechanic in 1841 and resided at Travis Hill, Manchester. ⁴ (not certain but seems likely this is him - John, 5, is with him and no sign of mary who likely died after John was born)

He worked as a Builder employing 3 men in 1851 and resided at Trinity Terrace, St Marys, Nottingham. ² (widower and with son John and parents -in-law)

James married Mary Stretton, daughter of Samuel Stretton and Mary, on 11 Mar 1832 in Nottingham St Nicholas.¹ (Mary Stretton was born before 1815 and died before 1851 ⁵.)
