  General Notes:

"SHE'S A REAL GOLDEN OLDIE

Miss Ailsa Shaw first worked for the Red Cross during World War I and when she turned 100 this week, her services were not forgotten.

Miss Shaw was presented with flowers and a certificate at her home at Hilltop Lodge, Bentley.

She has been a member of the Applecross unit of the Red Cross since it was founded by her mother on July 15, 1915, in the family home and both she and her sisters worked actively during World War I.

In 1989 Miss Shaw was also recognised in a special ceremony for her 75 years of service."
