Elizabeth was Annie's grandmother. Her son Alfred was in Stanton by Dale with his grandfather William DOAR. Joseph WHITELEY was in Stapleford, Notts working as a Lace Warehouseman. In 1881, Annie was with her husband and three of their children on Woodborough Road, Nottingham. The marriage entry on Free BMD says Joseph Thomas WHITELEY, in the 1881 census his name was written as John Thomas WHITELEY. He said he was 34 in 1881. Their son Edward was with his grandparents, William and Sarah DOAR in 1881. In 1891, Annie was working as a Lady's Maid in Wargrave, Berkshire. Her daughter Ada Maud and son Edward Joseph were boarding in Nottingham with Lucy A SPEED. There is no John or Joseph on the 1891 census but there is a J.T. WHITELEY, lodging at the "Old Original Dog & Partrige Inn" on Lower Parliament Street, Nottingham. He was described as married and his occupation was a commission agent. Alfred William WHITELEY was working as a gardener in Hertfordshire. In 1901, Annie was living in Harlaxton, Lincs with her second husband, Joseph BRICKLES, and her son Alfred William WHITELEY. Joseph was a farmer, age 60, who was born in Great Hale, Lincs.
