Hugh McNab
Chronology: In 1851 he was described as a Mason's son and was living with his parents at Black Mill Bay, Luing. It is interesting to note that next door are a family of McDougalls including Ann McDougall, 38 Jura, married although her husband is not present. 5 In 1861 he was an Agricultural Labourer living in Toberonochy, Luing, Argyll with his wife and 2 daughters. Next door was Ann McDougall aged 90 and born Jura who may be his wife's grandmother. 6 He worked as a Quarrier (Slate) in 1871 and resided at Black Mill Bay, Island of Luing, Kilbrandon and Kilchattan Parish. 7 Hugh married Ann McDougall, daughter of John McDougall and Ann McInnes, on 1 Dec 1857 in Kilbrandon/Kilchattan, Argyll.1 (Ann McDougall was born Cal 1837 in Kilchattan, Argyll and died on 20 Apr 1899 in Black Mill Bay, Kilchattan.) |
