Ann McDougall
(Cal 1837-1899) |
Ann McDougall
General Notes: Ann's parents are a bit of a mystery. Her marriage states that her father was John McDougall, Police Constable and her mother Ann McInnes indicating they were not married. Ann's 1899 death entry has her mother as Ann McInnes (dec) but no mention of her father. The McInnes and McDougall familes are well represented in these parishes and John seems to have been a particularly popular name. The following is a theory that seems to fit but needs more work. Chronology: In 1891 she was living in Black Mill Bay with two daughters described as domestic servants and grandson James Murray. 2 Ann married Hugh McNab, son of John McNab and Margaret Henderson, on 1 Dec 1857 in Kilbrandon/Kilchattan, Argyll.1 (Hugh McNab was born on 5 Sep 1826 in Ellenabeich, Kilbrandon 3 4 and died in 1872 in Kilbrandon/Kilchattan, Argyll 5.) |
