Samuel Hubert

  General Notes:

"Placeholder" until we find who Emma's husband was. According to the 1871 census she was aunt of William & Esther's Ada (and not Charles' wife as previously thought)

Possible she was Samuel's wife as he had a daughter Elizabeth 1858 but mother is shown as Eliza

Note there is an Alec Hubert and son in Ipswich in 1881 living with George Hubert b1825

  Chronology:

He worked as an Instrument Maker in 1851 and resided at Nine Elms, Surrey. ⁸

He worked as an Engine Fitter in 1858 and resided at Deptford, Kent. ⁹

He worked as a Gunmaker in Sep 1860 and resided at 18 B???? Place, Tower Hamlets. ¹⁰

In 1861 I haven't found him for certain. It seems that wife Eliza may have died possibly in 1858 in childbirth. Daughter Elizabeth's whereabouts are unknown.There is a Samuel Hubert, unmarried, b1830 London who is a boarder working as a Gunsmith in Enfield and who I can't find on other censuses. It seems likely that this may be him - more so when noted that he married Emma later in 1861 in Islington also north of London. ¹¹

Samuel married Eliza Pidgeon, daughter of Thomas Pidgeon and Sarah Head, on 26 Apr 1857 in Saint George, Camberwell.^{1 2 3} (Eliza Pidgeon was born Cal 1830 in Surrey ¹² and died before 1861 ¹³.)

Sarah Head Peacock is almost certainly Sarah Head Fowler was witness to Eliza Pidgeon's parents' marriage in 1825 She is quite likely a cousin of Sarah's but I haven't found the connection yet. These are probably her:

Samuel next married Emma Warr Sep to Dec 1861 in Islington.⁴ (Emma Warr was born Cal 1826 in Old Kent Rd, Surrey ¹⁴ and died on 14 Jul 1889 in 51 Clifton Rd, Peckham, Surrey ¹⁵.)
