Frederick William Vail

The Frederick William Vail b1864 is most likely the Fred Vail who appears in Lavinia Shaw's albums in 3 photographs, two with Ernest Shaw and the third alone in a school uniform (Wesley?). 1864 was the year of Ernest Shaw's birth.

[7/8/06 RB] I checked the list of students in the History of Wesley College 1865 - 1919 (SLV) and could only find Vail, E L started 1868 and Vail, W N started 1870. Frederick had four older brothers (Edward Luke b1859, William Knight b1860, Francis Ernest b1862, Albert Henry b1863). Did the first two start at Wesley and then all move to another school. The older boys would have been contemporaries of Ernest Shaw's older brothers who started at Wesley in 1872.
