![]() General Notes: I haven't benn able to find a birth or baptism record. Her father is given on her marriage entry as William Ward, Carter, and her mother Ann Drummond (both deceased). Her death entry gives her father as Robert Ward, Carter, and her mother as Ann Thomas. ![]() Chronology: In 1851 she was 10 and working as a Domestic Servant at "Hundred Acre Hill", Maryhill, Glasgow for blacksmith David Russell and family. 12 In Sep 1858 at the time of her marriage she was described as a spinster working as a Domestic servant and living at 16 Port Dundas Road. This is close by Dobbies Loan in central Glasgow. 1 She worked as a Cleaner & Washer in 1901. 13 ![]() Ann married John (Morrison) Mitchell, son of John Mitchell and Anne Young, on 24 Sep 1858 in Clyde, Glasgow, Lanarkshire.1 2 (John (Morrison) Mitchell was born Cal 1838 in Maryhill, Lanarkshire 14 and died on 15 Dec 1914 in 3 Dobbies Loan, Glasgow 15.) |

There is only one other Ann Ward of close to the right age in the area and she shows up with parents William and Bridget in 1861. This one fits with the Maryhill connection and no parents - we know they were dead by 1858. Could "Ward" be an assumed name?.
