![]() General Notes: The 1841 census for Cullen shows Ann and James Gray living at Lintmill with three of their children (Isabella, Duncan and Elen) and a mysterious grandchild named Margaret Cook aged 1. This grandchild (born Cullen 1840) must be the child of one of the daughters Isobel, Mary or Catherine who were unmarried at that time. I am still trying to identify the father named Cook. [PTG 2008] ![]() Chronology: He worked as a Mason in 1818 and resided at Cullen. 6 He worked as a Mason in 1841 and resided at Lintmill, Cullen. 3 (with wife Ann, children Isabella, Duncan and Elen) He worked as a Stonemason in 1877 and resided at Lintmill, Seafield, Cullen, Banff. 7 ![]() James married Anne Duncan (Or Scot), daughter of Alexander Duncan and Katherine Scot, on 12 Dec 1818 in Cullen. (Anne Duncan (Or Scot) was born on 20 May 1797 in Burnside, christened on 23 May 1797 in Cullen, Banff, Scotland 8 and died before Mar 1877 9.) |
