(1797-Bef 1877) |
Anne Duncan (Or Scot) 1 2
![]() General Notes: From the OPR we can be quite certain my ancestor Ann Duncan, who was born on 20/5/1797 and baptized at Cullen on 23/5/1797, is the "natural" child of Alexander Duncan, a Royal Navy surgeon who was living at Broom, a farmhouse in the parish of Fordyce next to Cullen. Ann's mother is Kathrine Scot of Burnside, baptized at Cullen on 1/10/1771. Burnside is a place to the west of Lintmill, which is about a mile south of Cullen village. When Ann was born the surgeon had already married and had two children aged six and seven living at Broom. (PTG 2006) ![]() Anne married James Gray, son of James Gray and Isobel Palmer, on 12 Dec 1818 in Cullen. (James Gray was born on 25 Dec 1790 in Cullen, Banff, Scotland, christened on 2 Jan 1791 in Cullen 5 6 and died on 15 Mar 1877 in Cullen.) |
