Caroline Mitchell (sister of Elizabeth who married Joel Hale) was married before she married Elijah Pine.
Aged only 15 with the consent of her mother Jane (nee Caws) and a Thomas Mitchell of Lymington (gent) as her bondsman, Caroline married John-George THOMAS. He was aged 21 (b abt 1791) and a purser on HMS Snap (a sloop captured from the French). It seems the crew were laid off in 1811 but he gives Portsea as his other residence.

Caroline next married Elijah Pine, son of William Pine and Mary Ball, on 25 Feb 1818 in Alverstoke, , Hampshire.1 (Elijah Pine was born Cal 1790 in Bath, Somerset 4, christened on 16 Aug 1790 in Walcot Vineyard, Countess of Huntingdon, Somerset 1 and died on 8 Feb 1864 in Portsea, Hants 5 6.)

I am a descendent of Horatio PINE b 7 March 1830 son of Elijah and second wife Caroline (nee Mitchel) m 25 Feb 1818 Alverstoke,, Hampshire. Elijah PINE was c 16.08.1790 Walcot Vineyard, Countess of Huntingdon, Somerset. Sister Eliza PINE C 23 May 1789 Walcot etc. as above. Parents William and Mary UNKNOWN (? possibly Mary Ann Gordon 21.10.1762 at Abbey or St Peter and St Paul, Bath Som.) Horatio PINE b Portsea, Hampshire. Can anyone help with more information?
