Chronology: He worked as a LaceMaker in 1861 and resided at Butcher Lane, Beeston, Notts. 5 (boarding with brother Mark at house of widow Ellen Toplis) He worked as a Lace Hand in 1871 and resided at Old Town Buildings, Chard. 6 (with widowed mother, brother Paul and mother's grandson James) He worked as a Lace Hand in 1881 and resided at Dick Hill, Chard. 7 (with wide Ellen and 5 children) He worked as a Lace Maker in Factory in 1891 and resided at Perry St Cottages, Chard. 8 (with wife, 6 children and step daughter Betty Hurford, 19) He worked as a Lace Weaver in 1901 and resided at Henry St Factory (?), Chard. 9 (with wife Ellen and 3 children) Eli married Annie Cousins in Dec 1859 in Chard (reg).1 (Annie Cousins was born circa 1840 in Chard, Somerset, England and died before 1861.) |
