Is this the Moore who was one of two "young men" who managed the Qld branches of AHS' business in 1880s - would explain lack of Vic birth records for children [see Vic & Metropolis entry for AHS]

He worked as an Ironmonger in Apr 1887 and resided at Brisbane, , Queensland, Australia. ³

MISC: resigned from Shire of Ithaca Council, Rosalie Ward, 1895, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. ⁷ (seems likely this was him with the family history in the Milton area)

MISC: Estate Liquidation, 24 Aug 1897, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. ⁸ "A meeting of creditors in the estate of John James Moore, of Brisbane, commercial broker and agent, was held at the offices of Messrs. Winter and M'Nab yesterday afternoon. Three creditors, representing £2037 2s. 6d., were present. The state- ment of affairs showed unsecured creditors amounted to £7950, and creditois partly secured £350, making the total liabilities £8300. The assets, which consisted of household furniture and effects, totalled £91. Tlie cause of insolvency was stated to be owing to the failure of Messrs. Alfred Shaw and Co Limited. It was decided
to liquidate the estate by arrangement and not in insolvency, and Mr. T. Welsby was appointed trustee at a remuneration of not less than £10 10s. The trustee was authorised to sell the household furniture and effects to the debtor's wife for the sum of £1. It was further decided to grant the debtor his discharge at the expiration of one week, provided the trustee filed no objection in the meantime. Messrs. Winter and M'Nab were intrusted with the registration of the resolutions."

He resided in 1915 in "Karalpa", Clarence Street, Elsternwick. ⁹

John married Amelia Sarah Shaw, daughter of Alfred Henry Shaw and Hannah Heywood, on 25 Apr 1887 in "House of Alfred Henry Shaw", Balaclava.^{1 2 3} (Amelia Sarah Shaw was born on 14 Jul 1861 in St Kilda ^{10 11 12} and died in 1948 in Victoria ¹³.)
