In 1851 he was working as a Framework Knitter and living in Sandiacre with daughter Eliza and grandchildren John Doar, 11, (illegitimate son of Millicent) and Harriet. 10
In 1854 at the time of his wife's death he was described as a Labourer. 11
William married Mary Coxon, daughter of Peter Coxon and Sarah Theobald, on 27 Dec 1813 in Sandiacre.1 (Mary Coxon was born about 17 Feb 1797 in Spondon, Derby,12 13 died on 27 Apr 1854 in Sandiacre 14 15 and was buried on 30 Apr 1854 in Sandiacre 16.)
