From 1841 to 1851 he was a Lace Maker living with wife and family in Sandiacre. 8 9
In 1861 he was Cotton Lace Maker in Town St, Sandiacre living with his family. The next house along was occupied by James and Doar and beyond that William and Sarah lived. 10 11
In 1871 he was described as a Lace Maker and was living with second wife, elizabeth, and two sons at Weaver Row, Ilkeston. 12 13
In 1881 he was working as a Railway Labourer and living at Weavers Row, Ilkeston with wife (incorrectly recorded as Jane?) and son Frederick. 14 15
In 1891 he was living in Weavers Row, Ilkeston and Unable to Work. 16 17
George married Sarah Oldershaw, daughter of Unknown and Unknown, on 24 Feb 1834 in Sandiacre.1 (Sarah Oldershaw was born Cal 1814,18 died on 24 Sep 1865 in Sandiacre 19 20 and was buried on 26 Sep 1865 in Sandiacre 21.)
George next married Elizabeth Wheatley Apr to Jun 1870 in Basford.2 (Elizabeth Wheatley was born Cal 1828 in Ilkeston, Derbys and died Apr to Jun 1901 in Nottingham 22.)
