Named for Alexander Grant of Tochieniel and Alexander Baird and Alexander Sinclair(?) Witnesses: Mrs Lawtie and Mrs ------ and Mrs Peggie Grant.
[RB to PTG Sep 2008] "I found another item of possible interest but with a much more tenuous link. There is an Edinburgh civil court case with reference to a father and son both named Alexander Innes, who it seems borrowed money to set up a business in Jamaica. From my quick reading things went badly and the business failed with the younger Alexander dying in Jamaica before 1781. I would have been more pleased to find this a few days ago but Margaret Innes has now provided information that seems to fix Alexander the merchant's parents as William Innes and Margaret Watson."
Note that there is a William Gordon in Farskan 1732 at baptism of Patrick and Helen Ord's Jean

Alexander married Nellie Grant, daughter of George Grant and Magdalene Gordon, on 6 Jul 1763 in Rathven.1 (Nellie Grant was born circa 1746 10.)
