  General Notes:

I originally had her as daughter of Patrick Grant and Helen Ord but the names of her children and the relationship with sister Katherine suggest she was daughter of George.

The names of her children more or less confirm it and then there is this in an email from Margaret Innes 2008:

"14/08/1760 Alexander Grant in Findochty by his wife Ann Urquhart had a chid George Grant. Witness George Grant minister of Rathven. His son George Grant Nellie Grant his daughter & Nellie Grant of (unsure).

I think this shows that a Nellie Grant is the daughter of George & Magdaline but why no birth recorded especially for a minister of the church seems surprising."

[RB to PTG Sep 2008] "I'll consider the full contents of your email in more detail but will forward in the meantime two emails from Margaret Innes which seem to build a pretty solid case for Nellie Grant being the daughter of George and Magdaline Grant. On the same site as the Cullen MIs there is a Rathven parish session minute listing George's children and there is a Helen listed immediately after Katherine which would fit with them being married a day apart and the order of the marriages. Margaret also quotes an OPR entry which mentions George's daughter Nellie Grant (and another Nellie Grant - possibly Helen Ord?). Together with the names of Nellie's children (if we discount the earlier Donald) it seems unlikely Nellie is not George Grant's daughter.
Interestingly Margaret also mentions that Patrick Grant is one of three brothers, the other two being and Alexander and a George, possibly George the minister. I've asked her if she would mind sending some more information on the source of that information."
