  General Notes:

"This afternoon Alexander Hacket Lawful Son to Alex'r Hacket and Cristian Wilson in Cairniewhing was baptized before several witnesses particularly Mr George Rofe in Pittulie and Mr Alex'r Wilson schollmaster at Monquhitor"

These are my reasons for Alexander Hacket probably being the son of Alexander Hacket and Christian Wilson:

1) We can determine that AH was born about 1729 from the following monumental inscription:
"In memory of ALEXANDER HACKET late farmer in Kirktown of Alva d. 25 July 1793 aged 64; his spouse JANE PARK d. 5 Mar, 1806 aged 81. Of their children CHARLES d. Sept. 1779 aged 21, ALEXANDER d. 24 Sept. 1780 aged 29 & ELSPET d. 13 Sept. 1782 aged 17. This stone was erected as a mark of respect by their affectionate son WILLIAM HACKET farmer in Mains of Fedderet; his beloved sister MARGARET d. 30 May 1809 aged 39. Also in memory of ISABELLA HACKET wife of WILLIAM WALLACE gardener Lady Bridge Asylum d. 23 Dec. 1893 aged 76."

2) At the time of his marriage he was described as "in the parish of Tyrie"

  Chronology:

He resided in 1749 in "in the Parish of Tyrie". 5
Tyrie Parish is just to the west of Cowbog and includes New Pitsligo about 1k away.

He resided from 1750 to 1763 in Cowbog, Aberdour, Aberdeen. 6
Cowbog was about 6k south west of New Aberdour just south of the Banff-Fraserburgh road, now the A98. Heading east on that road cross Gonar Burn, travel about 150 metres and there is a lane on the right. Cowbog would have been about 50 metres down that lane (now Lovie Construction).

He resided from 1765 to 1793 in Kirktown of Alvah, Banff. 7
Alvah is about 2k south of Banff.

He worked as a Farmer before 1793 and resided at Kirktown of Alva. 8
