Arthur next married Jessie Amelia Birch, daughter of William Birch and Emma Kidman, Cal 1909 in Perth, WA.3 (Jessie Amelia Birch was born on 7 Mar 1874 in Sturt, South Australia,23 24 died on 7 Jan 1943 in Austin Hospital, Heidelberg 23 and was buried on 9 Jan 1943 in Fawkner Cemetery 23.) |

A meeting of creditors in the estate of
Arthur Henry Shaw, merchant, Brisbane,
was held yesterday at the office of Mr. T.
O'Sullivan, Queen-street. Mr. G. Down,
proxy for Mr. W. C. Beattie, of Scotland,
occupied the chair. Four creditors were
present, representing the sum of- £7533 9s
3d. The statement of affairs showed un-
secured creditors, £7022 14s. 4d; other
liabilities, £6533 10s. 8d; total, £14,150 5s.
Assets. £5499 17s. 10d. The causes of in-
solvency were stated to be the failure cf
Alfred Shaw and Co., the debtor's principal
liabilities having been incurred on behalf
of the late firm of Alfred Shaw and Co.,
whose assets and liabilities were taken over
by Alfred Shaw and Co., Limited, in 1893 ;
also, the issue of a writ by W. C. Beattie
for interest due under a mortgage on pre-
mises occupied by A. Shaw and Co., Limited.
It was resolved that the affairs of the debtor
be liquidated by arrangement, and not in
insolvency. Mr. T. Welsby, accountant,
was appointed trustee at a remuneration of
5 per cent, not to be less than fifteen
guineas, the debtor to be granted his dis-
charge in one month, provided no objection
was lodged by the trustee. Mr. O'sullivan
was intrusted with the registration of the
resolutions.
