In 1881 he was living in Market Place, Heanor with Lucy and his apprentice, Isaac Attenborough, and working as Joiner and Builder. 7 8
In 1891 he was living with Lucy and one servant at Russia Yard, Heanor and working as a Joiner and Builder. 9 10
In 1901 he was "Living on own means" at Market Place, Heanor, with Lucy, her brother Frederick and adopted daughter Muriell E. Brockett. 11 12
