With them was 5 month old son Thomas, born in Harwich implying that Sarah's husband John had only died in the previous year. It was 13 years since her last child was born so it is possible that Thomas is a grandson - he could even be the son of Susan. I can find no birth registration for Thomas but there are two Tendring death registrations for a Thomas Lucas (1851 and 1855 - ordered Nov 2007). 4 Sarah married John Lucas, son of (Father of Needham Market Brothers) Lucas and Mary, on 16 Jan 1826 in Barking, Needham, Darmsden, Suffolk.1 (John Lucas was born Cal 1805 in Suffolk 5 and died before 1851 6 7.)
