Samuel Joel Hale
General Notes: "Samuel Joel Hale was the youngest child of Thomas and Mary and in 1875 settled in Kyneton, Victoria, having a Stationery and Fancygoods shop in Piper Street. Samuel and Emily Maria Chaplin were married in 1878 and lived in Kyneton. Samuel died of pneumonia in 1901 at the age of 49, survived by his wife Emily and six of his seven children, Mary, Thomas Newton, Arthur, Muriel Henrietta, Annie Eliza, and William Robert. Effie, his youngest daughter had died at the age of 2, on Boxing Day two years previously. Arthur died in 1918 in war service. Thomas Newton Hale moved to Sydney and settled there." [Rosemary Hale]
